FAQ

How long will my sessions be?
Sessions run for 50 - 55 minutes, should you require additional time this will be discussed in session and may incur an additional fee

What happens in the first session?
The first few sessions are all about rapport building with your Psychologist, getting to know you, and your background, and starting to put together a picture of where therapy will be guided.  It can be a little difficult to walk into that first session and not knowing what to expect, don't worry, our Psychologist makes every attempt to make it a light-hearted session, and ensure we work at your pace.

How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions vary from person to person based on their needs, as such this can be a difficult question to answer. We recommend discussing this with your Psychologist in session.

What I am experiencing is not listed on the services page, can I still book a session?
If you are unsure whether we are the right service for you, we highly encourage you to give us a call or email to discuss your needs. We want to ensure your therapist has experience in your area of needs to ensure you get the best outcome.

Do you treat children?
Yes we are happy to see children 8 years and above. For all children/adolescents attending the practice, it is crucial parents are involved in sessions.

My child is younger than 8 years old, will you still see them?
Given the developmental age it is difficult for a younger child to attend online sessions, as such, it is recommended for children aged below 8 to engage with a Psychologist face to face, and or an Occupational Therapist. Our Psychologist will happily work with the Parents only for children below 8.

Are sessions confidential?
Psychologists are bound by a code of ethics, as such, all data collected in sessions remain confidential, however, as our Psychologists are mandatory reporters, in the case of suspected child abuse, this will be reported immediately.
For individuals aged 16 years and below, if there are concerns around safety, illegal drug/alcohol use, then the Psychologist is required to inform parents.
Should you be going through a court process, please be aware notes can be subpoenaed to the court. Should you have further concerns please discuss this in session.
